昨日、私にメールが届きました。新型コロナウイルスに対する日本の対応についてとても心配している様子です。2月3日から7日にかけて、関連記事を掲載しますので、併せてお読みいただければと存じます。

友人の名前は匿名＊＊＊＊＊としたうえで、以下のように一部を編集しました。

質問事項は赤、質問関連の叙述は青、その他、必要に応じて下線を施しました。

今後、返事のために質問文の文頭にはQ1～Q5を施しました。

そのうえで、それぞれの訳を加えてみました。

How are you these days?

Sorry to suddenly email you out of the blue. You probably do not appreciate it, but I thought I would ask you as a friend.

Q1. What do you think about this new coronavirus?

（新型コロナウイルスについてはどのように考えていますか。）

If you are busy do not worry, I am sure you have too many requests for information from patients and working hard.

 I have also been very busy and tired recently. 

However, I am concerned and to be honest, quite angry at the Japanese response to this epidemic.

（私は心配だし、率直に言えばこの伝染病にたいする日本の対応にはまったく腹立たしいです。）

 I heard today they sent the Japanese evacuees from Wuhan back to their homes.

（今日聞いたところでは、日本は武漢から避難してきた邦人を帰宅させたとのことです。）

 Q2.Surely they took the train, and will infect other civilians or family members?

（きっと彼らは電車に乗ったはずで、そうだとすれば他の一般市民や家族が感染してしまうことにはなりませんか？）

Also I have read scientists do not know how infectious people are even when asymptomatic.

（そのうえ、感染者が無症状でいつもとかわらないままでいられる理由を科学者たちが把握していないという記事を読みました。）

This makes me worry.

I do not trust the Chinese authorities and information.

（私は中国当局やそれが流す情報に信頼を置いてはいません。）

Q3.The cases have increased by over a thousand the last few days, so I guess they have been hiding the numbers and are perhaps slow releasing the numbers each day?

（直近の数日間で感染者の数は千人を超えるまでに膨れ上がりました、そこから私が推測するには中国当局は感染者数を隠蔽し続けていて、おそらく日毎の感染者数の公表を遅らせているのではないでしょうか？）

China has also censored private internet user videos and now only state sanctioned information has been released for the last 2 or three days.

This also really worries me.  

Unlike Taiwan, Hong Kong, and even Kazakhstan.

（台湾、香港ばかりでなくカザフスタンでさえ実施しているのとは異なり、）

Japan has not stopped Chinese from travelling.

（日本は中国人が旅行を続けることを停止させていません。）

Only yesterday I took a train to work that was full of Chinese tourists.

Many of them were not wearing masks.

This makes me actually very very angry.

The British government and American government are quarantining all evacuees from their respective.

（英国政府と米国政府はそれぞれの避難者全員の隔離を続けています。）

Q4.　Is Japan not doing anything just because the business lobbyists in want the Chinese New Year tourist money and do not want to panic Tokyo?

（日本が何もしていないのは、単に中国の春節旅行者の落とす金をあてこんでいる業者の陳情工作のためや東京をパニックに陥らせたくないためのものなのでしょうか？）

I really wonder why the response is so different. 

（対応が＜国によって＞これほどまでに異なっているわけを私はとてもいぶかしく思います。）

I just saw some graph projections and it seems there could be over one hundred million infected worldwide by the end of February, plus it has a higher (so far) infection rate and mortality rate than the common flu. 

Some of my friends have asthma, so I also worry it could be dangerous for them. 

I am trying to control my anger at the Japanese response now but feel really disgusted.

I hope people here start taking it more seriously.

Q5.Can you give me any thoughts?

 Will Tokyo be in "lockdown" in a month?

（東京は1カ月以内に「完全閉鎖」されることになるのでしょうか。）

I worry about people`s common sense, the hospitals here and panic buying.

（国民の常識、この国の病院やパニック買い占めについて憂慮しています。）
