この国際学会のタイトルはとても長いためか、PreHTという略称を持っています。これはPrehypertention（高血圧前症）の略称であり、私にとってはインパクトがありました。

この学会参加の決定理由は、１）テーマ、２）時期、３）開催地です。

とくにPrehypertention（高血圧前症）に相当する患者さんが増加しているなかで、どのような理解と対応をすべきか、という臨床的課題が生じていたからです。

高血圧前症　Prehypertensionとは(120-139／80-89 mmHg)の範囲の血圧範囲に相当します。これはNormal（正常血圧）とHigh normal(正常高値)を合わせた新たな変更による概念です。たとえ正常域血圧の範囲内でも、より早期の段階から注意が 必要であるという考え方に基づいています。

水氣道の継続会員は稽古の前後で血圧を測定することは習慣になっていますが、全般的にとても良好な血圧値を呈しています。ただし、水氣道の創始者で20年来の経験者である私自身の血圧でさえ、最近では高血圧前症の範囲にあることが多いです。充実してはいますがストレスフルな生活が原因であろうと推測していますが、しっかりと見極めなければならない責任があると感じています。

It is our pleasure to invite you to participate in the 6th International Conference on Prehypertension, Hypertension, Metabolic Disorders and Cardiovascular Disease, which will take place in Vilnius, Lithuania from 28 February – 3 March, 2019.

Prehypertension is a part of the continuum from normotension to hypertension it is a part of a dynamic process of stiffening and aging of the arteries and of the heart with its consequences.

訳：高血圧前症は正常血圧から高血圧までの連続体の中の一領域です。

それは動脈や心臓が硬化し加齢するという動的過程の一部であるということです。

Patients in the prehypertensive range will become finally hypertensive.

訳：高血圧前症領域の患者は最終的には高血圧状態に至ります。

Diseased arteries will not only participate in propagation of end organ damage but will enhance the progression of additional damage in the arteries and the heart.

訳：病的動脈は末端臓器に進展するにとどまらず動脈や心臓のさらなる障害を促進してしまうことになります。

Understanding the risk of borderline conditions in the metabolic syndrome will enable us to understand the nature of end organ damage and will create a possibility of better prevention of this continuous process.

訳：メタボリック症候群との境界域にあるリスクを理解するならば、末端臓器障害の性状を理解できるようになり、さらに、こうした連続的な過程を予防するためのより有効な手立てを考案することができるでしょう。
